Roamin’ Rex

LogoWho is Roamin’ Rex and where did he come from?

Rex has been travelling through time for many years before he landed in Kent in 2015.  He has roamed the land with cavemen, marched with the Romans, cultivated the land with 16th century farmers, and cycled through the Victorian period.

Where did Rex get his name from?

Over the summer of 2015, the Wheels of Time museums ran a competition open to children across Kent.  The task?  To name our time travelling character…

We received over 50 entries with some great ideas for names. But there can only be one winner, and the winner was 5 year old Daniel, from Ashford, who came up with “Roamin’ Rex”. We awarded Daniel his prize (free entry to all 10 museums) at Ashford Museum in October 2015, presented to him by the museum Curator and the Town Mayor.
